Staff at the Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre recently completed a two-day arborist training program designed to refresh their skills in height safety and large tree maintenance. The training supports the Centre’s commitment to maintaining a safe and well-managed environment for both visitors and staff.

The program combined theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on sessions. Participants reviewed key safety protocols, tree assessment techniques, and equipment handling procedures to ensure they can carry out their duties with confidence and precision.

Practical exercises included climbing and working on tall trees, focusing on the safe removal of dead branches and limbs that posed risks to infrastructure. Staff also received training on selecting and using appropriate cutting tools tailored to various types of tree care tasks and field challenges.

By completing this comprehensive training, Hellfire Pass staff are better equipped to manage the Centre’s natural surroundings while adhering to the highest safety and operational standards.
