Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre | Hellfire Pass closed for annual maintenance 4-24 May 2026

Visitors are kindly advised that the Interpretive Centre and walking trail will be closed for annual maintenance from 4 to 24 May 2026 (inclusive). These works are necessary to ensure the ongoing safety, preservation, and quality of the site for all visitors.

During this period, all areas will be inaccessible, including:

  • The Interpretive Centre building 
  • Hellfire Pass (Konyu Cutting) and all sections of the walking trail 

We kindly ask visitors to plan their visit accordingly, as no access to the site will be permitted throughout the closure period.

Normal operations will resume from 25 May 2026, and we look forward to welcoming visitors back at that time.

Members of the public are invited to attend the official Anzac Day Dawn Service at Hellfire Pass, Kanchanaburi on Saturday 25 April 2026, at 05.30 am*

Advance registration is now open.

  • Seating at the service site is strictly limited and cannot be reserved for members of the public.
  • Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis and fill quickly.
  • Once seating is full, visitors are welcome to stand for the Service.


For safety reasons, capacity at the memorial site is limited because of its location within the Konyu Cutting.

Once capacity is reached, no further entry will be permitted into the Cutting. However, the Dawn service will be televised via a large screen located at the entrance of the Hellfire Pass Interpretative Centre building.

A complimentary Gunfire Breakfast will be provided immediately following the service.
